A great terroir !

This wine is the result of our research on a terroir renowned for many years as being one of the greatest in the appellation :

• Third terraces, clay limestone soil, exposed due south

• Early ripening (at least a week before the rest of the appellation) due to Atlantic influence.

• 200 years of grape-growing history on the land which produces this wine.

• in-house vine selection (my grand-father selected the best vines and took cuttings himself for his own home nursery)

• yields of five bunches per vine with the consequent guarantee of top quality fruit from 100% Auxerrois vines.

Talented and respectful wine-making :

Fermentation in small tanks with 40 days of maceration
Slow extraction which favours the concentration of aroma
Punching-down when necessary
Careful micro-oxygenation with the aim of producing a greater harmony of aroma and tannic structure.

A noble ageing process in the lap of luxury
:

The wines are run off into new oak barrels without pumping. We use barrels from seven different coopers which highlight and bring complexity to our own Lamartine style : fruit and finesse first and foremost, elegant tannins next.
We look to complete this harmonious approach with careful use of lees-stirring and micro-oxygenation.
