Grape varieties :

90% Auxerrois
10% Merlot

Vines aged between 30 and 45 years old. Yields of 23 hl per acre. Grapes harvested when perfectly ripe.

Traditional wine-making in stainless-steel vats with temperature control (30° to 32° C towards the end of fermentation ) allows the extraction of elegant tannins and an array of powerful aromas. The wines are matured in concrete tanks until the following Spring when 15 % of the volume is transferred into barrels and another 15 % into oak casks for a years’ ageing. Bottling takes place 18 months after harvest.

The characteristics of this wine are its bright red colour, its rich nose with a touch of wood and notes of licorice and crushed red fruits. Powerful on the palate with a rich mouthfeel, chewy and slighty astringent tannins. It promises to keep well.

To accompany strongly-flavoured meat dishes.

Grape varieties :

90% Auxerrois
10% Tannat

Old vines aged between 40 and 60 years old with low yields of about 18 hl per acre. The grapes are harvested only after a very thorough and selective sorting.

Fermentation in stainless steel tanks with temperatures controlled at 30°C. The marc is either punched down or the juices pumped over, and this method allows for greater complexity to be obtained in the finished wine.

• Ageing in oak barrels, partly new, for 12 to 14 months, gives even greater splendour to this wine, which is without doubt a flagship of its appellation.

• Powerful and with great length, this “Cuvée Particulière” concentrates a maximum of the characteristics of a great wine : colour, rich silky tannins, complex aromas with notes of vanilla, chocolate, truffles and ripe fruits, and spicy notes of oak on the palate.
